Congo Square? What's this?
Set up in 2009 by bassist and composer A.T. one cold
September morning in Luxembourg, Congo Square floundered
for many months in want of a name. Many silly, wild and/or
unusable proposals later, they finally settled on one that
seemed to make sense at the time. All of the band members
lead a double life: in the one true plane of existence,
they make music; in the other, parallel universe that most
people think is real, they buy into the pyramid scheme that
is modern life.
Musical
style and influences:
Funk-Lounge-Electro-Pop with jazzy blues undertones?
Influenced by everything that anyone in the band has ever
heard. We call it Groovy Funk!
Other
influences:
The world at large, the Zeitgeist, existentialism,
humanism, the trauma of growing up, evolutionary and free
market pressures, too much literature, too much
television, a slight paranoia...
